What Our Customers Are Saying
Don’t just take it from us, let our customers do the talking!
We just had our backyard completed by Patrick Smith and his Team at Shipshape Landscape today. We are beyond impressed with the professionalism of both Patrick and his Team. They did a great job with us from the beginning by walking us through our vision, but more importantly focussing on every small detail that went into this huge project for my household.
As if the stress of putting a pool in wasn’t enough… Patrick stepped in and alleviated our stress by taking over our landscaping and even met with contractors from our pool company to ensure that we hit our vital time lines with drainage and irrigation. He was always available and went out of his way to ensure that we were comfortable with the project and the end result.
I know this has been said before on this site… but give Patrick a call. He is a perfectionist and wants more than anything for his customers to be happy.
I was referred to Legacy Landscapes by the builder of my new house. I contacted the owner, Patrick, the next day.
He soon came over and designed my yard exactly the way I wanted it, with waterfall/pond, dog run, lawn, shrubs/trees, and stamped concrete. He is very accommodating and responsive with my design changes throughout the process.
The completed project is beautiful and I am very happy with him and his crew. They were all very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. The quality of materials and planting a were excellent. It was even completed quicker then what I had expected.
Their support after the job is completed is excellent. I had a small problem with drainage and they were there immediately and fixed it.
I will definitely use them when I redo my front yard. I have and will continue to recommend him to neighbors and friends.
We cannot thank Patrick and the great men at Legacy Landscape & Construction for turning our backyard into an oasis. The final product is beautiful, they handled themselves professionally, and Patrick has been fantastic to work with!
Our yard got done in record time, which is something to consider when you have animals that need to use the space. Workers were always professional & friendly and they always made sure to not leave a mess in between days. The project was done within our budget, and we got way more than we originally thought we could afford. Any other contractor would have given us a fraction for what Patrick was able to do for us. The final project is more than we could have ever hoped for- it’s simply perfect!
We have battled with our yard for the past 4 years. Trying to make a space that can be enjoyed throughout the seasons with our friends and family but is also dog friendly and low maintenance has proven to be quite the challenge. Patrick has brought multiple ideas to us, always putting into consideration our budget and desire for a nice space. His knowledge of the business is something that we completely benefited from. He was able to take our ideas, elevate them, and make a space that we didn’t even know was possible!
We now have a space that can be enjoyed by us, our kids, our extended family, and our dogs year round. It’s both beautiful and functional. We are so fortunate to have Legacy Landscape & Construction and are thankful for the experience to work with them. We would highly recommend Patrick to anyone looking to do any form of landscape around their home!
My back yard needed a change. I have three kids, a wife, my father that lives with me and a dog. I needed a space all of us could share and build memories in. Patrick, the owner of Shipshape Landscape, came highly recommended by all my neighbors when I asked for recommendations for landscaping on the NextDoor App. He responded immediately and came out for a consult the same day I talked to him. He was just as responsive throughout the entire process. He sent me pics and kept in constant contact about the timeline and what was happening. He was a breath of fresh air. He made numerous sketches before we settled on the design and gratefully accommodated extra requests I made along the way. There were no surprise costs and everything he charged was right there on paper. He itemized it all and this guy operates with a degree of integrity that is missing in business a lot of the time. Patrick is great at what he does but more importantly he cares about the people he works for and you can see it from the moment you meet him. He’s honorable, dedicated, fair and knowledgable and if you want anything done in your yard, Legacy is the place to go. You will be amazed and forever grateful of the experience he creates for you during the process. Bravo Patrick, bravo!!!!
I originally came across Shipshape Landscape through my neighborhood social media app. Patrick and his crew came highly recommended. I set an appointment with him and was impressed from the moment he stepped on my property. He was on time, extremely personable, full of ideas, and more than happy to work with our budget. Because we had a brand new home and no backyard landscaping to start with we had to have everything done. We ended up doing our yard in several phases. I honestly cannot say enough wonderful things about Shipshape Landscape and everyone who works there. It’s refreshing to come across a company and an owner who show so much pride in what they do, and the quality of people they hire. They do things right, are always on time, and do an excellent job. They come highly recommend from us as well. You’re our go to landscaping company. Thank you so very much for our beautiful backyard, The Nielsens.
Patrick, I’m just writing to “Thank You” so very much for my beautiful backyard. I just love it!!! It’s like my own little oasis outside right now. And I also want to thank you and all of your crew of men who worked on it. All of you were so professional and friendly. A special thanks to you, Patrick, for holding Larry back from spending more money then needed on different projects that he thought he MIGHT want, but didn’t need. And a special thanks also to Ricardo. He’s such a nice man and a gentleman.
When we bought our brand new home we were totally overwhelmed by the prospect of turning the big pile of dirt into a backyard. Patrick Smith was absolutely amazing. He came over and talked to us for about an hour, asking all kinds of questions about what we would like to have and then went home and drew up a sample plan. We were blown away; he had designed us the backyard of our dreams. He totally understood what we wanted. From start to finish, Patrick was professional, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. He completed all aspects of the project on time, constantly communicated with us so we always knew what to expect, oversaw every phase of the project and was always available for questions, concerns, and even making changes at the last minute. When finished, our backyard was a masterpiece. It makes us smile every time we walk outside. Since we live in a new housing development, we have gotten many new neighbors. We always show off our yard and people are always totally impressed. We know for a fact that at least two neighbors have copied the basic design of our backyard (what a compliment) with their own personal touches added and several more have hired Patrick to do multiple projects. We, at Kavala Ranch, love Patrick Smith’s work. We wholeheartedly recommend Shipshape Landscape for any and all of your landscaping needs.
My wife & I bought a new home with a dirt backyard; after learning the developer wouldn’t add a backyard even if we paid for it we were kinda stumped. The sales agent recommended Shipshape Landscape as a starting point.
After meeting with Patrick, we were sold: we didn’t even bother getting quotes from anyone else. We clicked with Patrick immediately (and clicked with his quoted price, too). When it came time to do the work, they were done in days, not weeks, and we’re more than happy with the finished yard. I talked with not only Patrick but quite a few of his crew while they were doing my yard; they’re great people and I recommend them for their quality work but also because they’re the kind of people you’re glad to have around.
Hurrah to Legacy Landscape and Patrick for a job well done! My back yard had been a bunch of “nothing” since I moved in three years ago – a small lawn, two small bushes, and a lot of dirt, some of it sloping down to a wooden fence. I’d always wanted to level the yard and have it landscaped, and the prospect of El Nino was a good motivator. Knowing that I couldn’t put dirt against a wooden fence, it was determined that I needed to put in a cement block retaining wall with the fence above that. Sounded simple enough to me…except that it wasn’t. Patrick spent hours talking to the City (a permit was required) and finding a willing contractor to draw up the necessary plans for approval. After several months (literally!) everything came together, thanks to Patrick’s “we won’t give up” mantra. Then the work began, which was complicated by the fact that a major utility line ran right through the area where digging was needed for the wall. Since the utility couldn’t be precise about where the line actually was buried, the crew had to dig a long trench BY HAND, which wasn’t easy in the warm days. But they persevered and got the job done. The wall went up, the wooden fence went up, a sidewalk was added on one side of the house where there wasn’t one before, and the ground was all leveled and ready for landscaping. I gave Patrick permission to pick out all the plants and arrange them, and he did a great job – a few small “mounds” here and there to be more scenic, some big rocks for contrast, a variety of plants spread throughout, and beautiful rocks for a ground cover. Throughout the whole project, Patrick kept me informed, his crew was amazing to work with, and our requests for changes were willingly accommodated. I can’t say enough for these professionals, and their knowledge and work ethic. I became friends with Patrick as a person also, and he is someone that will do whatever it takes to do things right. Thanks to Legacy Landscaping I can now finally enjoy my back yard. Great job guys, and I’ll be sure to call you when I’m ready to do more with my patio!
My wife and I are very satisfied with the work performed by Shipshape Landscape. We were able to work in collaboration with the design team and provide input throughout the project. We wanted an edible landscape and it turned out exactly how we wanted it, from the blueberries and fig tree on one side to the grapes along the back, and the pomegranate on the other side. The raised planter beds are as beautiful as they are utilitarian.
At the end of the project I needed a way to anchor the patio cover without ruining the pavers. The owner of the company, Patrick Smith, came up with a beautiful and simple idea. Place the posts in flower pots, fill them partway with rocks, and top with soil and flowers. The results were fantastic and cost us less that $150 for the pots and materials (all but the rock was purchased at Green Acres). We are now growing broccoli, Brussel sprouts, lettuce, along with our herbs and fruits. Thank you Patrick and the team at Shipshape Landscape for giving us the fantastic backyard we’ve been dreaming of for two years.
We moved into our home and had a backyard that was mostly cement (very good job) which suits us just fine for family, BBQ’ing, and enjoying the easy maintenance. We had a simple plant area which a two block high wall that was a mess and just didn’t know what to do with it AND we didn’t feel like we wanted to do the work. We found Shipshape Landscape, Patrick. We were so comfortable with him from the start because he said it didn’t matter how small a job just want to make his community members are happy. He said we can do some or do all our choice, no pressure. His honesty was very pleasing and his recommendation were great.
Well our results were fantastic. He cleaned out the beds, added new dirt, laid two sets of drip systems (one for veggies and one for regular plants), and the best of all he designed it to look pleasing to the eye, not boring. It was simple, just a two row block wall before and after we have 4 planting areas with different heights to the wall with the main area for planting favorite plants, one for veggies, one for herbs, and one for “picking flowers”. All of this was Patrick’s idea.
The crew was so polite, on time, worked hard, cleaned up after themselves and left us with a ready to go backyard. We can now pick and choose what plants we want and Patrick offered to help us decide on the type of planting would be best.
We cannot say enough of the whole package from contract to completion. Thank you Patrick for being loyal to your customer and your honesty, being on time is hard to find this day and age.
